PRACTICAL GUIDE

A sector with its own rules

Swiss hospitality is governed by the national hospitality agreement (Landes-Gesamtarbeitsvertrag, L-GAV), which is generally binding. Among other things, it sets minimum wages, working hours, rest days and holidays. Recording hours worked is also particularly important in a sector with shifts and fluctuating schedules.

How we help

  • Planning seasonal staffing and suitable contracts.
  • Time recording and timely monitoring of hour balances.
  • Payroll preparation including supplements and variable pay.
  • Recruitment for kitchen, front-of-house and reception.
  • Fast onboarding for seasonal hires.

CLEAR ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

What is the L-GAV?

It is the national collective labour agreement for the hotel and restaurant industry in Switzerland. It applies to most businesses in the sector and sets minimum working conditions.
